Due to his professional background in Information Technology, Daniel Elliott brings a rare set of skills and experience to Morgan County. As a Morgan County commissioner, Daniel Elliott will focus on increasing Morgan County’s broadband infrastructure. Broadband is necessary for the future of Morgan County. It will improve educational opportunities for our children, allow small businesses to grow, and bring new businesses to our doors.

By partnering with private companies, working with the office of the Lieutenant Governor, and creating joint committees with local municipalities and school districts, Daniel is working hard to make sure students, families and businesses can get broadband access even in the most rural portions of our county. By emphasizing broadband connectivity, Daniel plans to make Morgan County a place small businesses can prosper and families can have access to educational opportunities for their children. Because of Daniel’s unique background as a business owner and an IT professional, he has a strong understanding of the technology and infrastructure needed to bring broadband to even the most rural areas of Morgan County.

Daniel worked with the City of Martinsville and the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville as a representative of Morgan County to create a joint agreement with the three units to manage our shared fiber infrastructure. This agreement has been shared throughout the state as example of intergovernmental cooperation. Daniel is currently working on forming a county wide broadband task force that would involve all local governments and school districts within the county.
