Serving in the Community
Daniel Elliott has a strong commitment to service. Daniel has shown a commitment to service throughout his adult life. As a young adult, Daniel chose to serve a two year mission teaching about Jesus Christ in South America for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He taught and served the people of Argentina before returning home to Indiana, where he married his wife, Laura, and they began their family.
Daniel has been very active as a Scout Master and a Cub Master where he shared with young men his values of service and a love of the outdoors for over 24 years. He has also been very involved with 4H, serving many years as a member of the Morgan County 4H Council. He has also served as a Sunday School teacher and Seminary instructor to the youth of his local congregation.
As an avid horseman, Daniel has served on the Indiana Horse Council, directed the Hoosier Horse Fair, leads the Morgan County Saddle Club, and is vice-president of the Indiana Half-Arabian Horse Club. Daniel shares his passion for horses with youth and adults throughout the area. He also participates yearly in Camp Discovery, bringing autistic children and horses together.
Daniel has served on Morgan County’s first Main Street program, Rediscover Martinsville, as a board member. He currently serves on the board of directors of WellSpring. WellSpring is a nonprofit, dedicated to providing compassionate support and concern for families facing the challenges of homelessness in Morgan county.
